You'll Find a Way

I love this quote I found a while back.  It's just so honest and to the point.  Don't you agree?

I find that this can be true in all areas of your life.  Think about it.  Work, exercise, your time commitments and how you treat your relationships-it's all about what you are or aren't willing (or wanting) to do.
So remember, you'll always do something you really want to do.  That's the easy part.  The other times you'll either make an excuse or you'll give it a try anyway.  If you do decide to go for it, try and make the best out of it.  You might be glad you did!

Addicted

Light Caramel Frappuccino
Well, it's official.  I'm completely addicted to this yummy, energizing drink.  I'm usually not one to drink coffee. I do not require that daily shot of caffeine.  But last week, while working a tournament, a player brought me this Light Caramel Frappuccino from Starbucks and I.Was.Hooked!
Immediately I thought about all the calories I was consuming while enjoying this refreshing beverage (I'm trying to lose these last six pounds).  But come to find out the Grande is only 140 calories.  Yay - that's not that bad.  So, today for lunch, I treated myself to this delicious treat.  I hope I don't stay addicted too long though because I don't think my wallet can handle a daily habit.

Motivation

Today I was back in the gym.  My work and travel schedule is becoming crazy again (that time of year) so it's been a week or two since I have been able to frequent my local health center.  I came across this photo last night though, which brought me instant motivation to jump right out of bed at 5:30 this morning.  I call it Inspiration.

Those are the arms I have been longing for.  I'm getting there with all this TRX and kettle bell training. But to have those guns?  Um, yes please!  Where do I sign up for those?  Notice she is holding a SUP oar?  So I guess that means the hubs is going to have to get me that Boga Paddle board I have been wishing for.  I just know this is going to be the ticket to my success.  :)

Buffett Culture

Those of you that follow me on Facebook know that the hubs and I are HUGE Parrotheads.  It's no secret we spend a lot of time and money following Jimmy around.

The Hubs and Our Buffett Map/Scoreboard
Last year we (OK, the hubs) made this map that shows everywhere we have been thus far.  As you can see he has been to over 40 shows and counting (44 as of this post).  I have now been to 18.  The blue represents everywhere AP has been while the pink shows all the spots we have gone to together.

West Palm Beach, FL - 2011
People always ask us why do we go to see Jimmy so much?  "Aren't the shows all the same?"  Well, not really.  Yes, he plays a lot of the same songs (If he doesn't there would be unrest amongst the crowd) but every show is different because of the people you meet and the memories you make.  It.Is.So.Much.Fun!

It is a total escape from reality.  It's a time to let loose and relax.  You'll meet all kinds of people at a Buffett show.  From the average guy in his Hawaiian shirt to the girl who is wearing nothing but body paint and is offering you a special concoction out of her frozen drink maker.

Pittsburgh, PA - August 2011
Tickets for the next show have been purchased already.  Charlotte, NC won't know what hit them on June 7.  We were able to get third row!  This will be the closest I have ever sat to Jimmy.  I might not know what to do with myself either.  This will be #19 for me and #45 for the hubs.  Oh, did I mention that this show is the day after we get back from Key West?  Wow!  What a week that is going to be.

So, yes, we're obsessed.  We love the Parrothead culture and Jimmy's zest for life.  We're happy to let him "spend our money foolishly."

Stop by and see us at the next show.  We make a mean key lime coloada.  - FINZ UP!

Paradise Calling

I'm counting down the days until we hop a plane to our beloved Key West, FL.  It's a place we now escape to at least once a year, if not more.  The hubs and I were married there so it holds a special place in our heart.

Married in Paradise - September 2003
I remember our first date like it was yesterday.  We talked about many topics that night but sharing our vivid tales and stories of our own trips to the Keys and Key West is what bonded us almost immediately.  You could almost say it was "love for the Keys at first sight."

I tell people that it's a place you'll either love or hate.  There is no in between with this tropical paradise.  It sinks into your soul and it can break your heart when you have to leave it behind.

Another beautiful sunset
It's really one of the only places people go to actually "celebrate" the sunset.  What a great concept!  Why don't we do that more often?

As you get to know me you'll learn that I LOVE being on the water.  I can't get enough of it.  The hubs usually has to wait until dark and then he'll have to drag me out to the shore kicking and screaming.

In the end, the Keys is just a relaxing and peaceful place for us.  It's not fancy.  You'll meet and see some very interesting people (I like to call them Crusty Keys people).  But it's AWESOME and I can't wait until we return.  One day I hope to be a Crusty Keys person too!

This year we're going to stay at this very cute and cozy private cottage.
I'm very excited and I'm going to get too spoiled for our next visit.

Cozy Keys Cottage
People tell me that I should be a travel agent for the Keys.  I love to tell people where to go, what to do and what to see.  I like sending people off the beaten path of the Duval Crawl.  Trust me, there are many other places to crawl off of Duval too!  If you need some inside tips for your next trip be sure to give me a shout.  I would love to help you out.

One of our favorite Key West hang-outs
In the meantime, I'll be dreaming of sunsets, Key Lime coladas, lunch at B.O's Fish Wagon, swimming with colorful fish and just relaxing poolside with the hubs in our own private tropical retreat.

It's been a stressful year already and in exactly six weeks we'll be more then ready to grab the carry-on and jaunt off to one of our own personal sanctuaries.  I hope you can get down there soon too!  I know you won't regret it.

Always remember:  If you lose yourself, you'll find the keys to paradise.  - Zac Brown Band

Don't be surprised if she talks you into one too.  I work hard but I also play hard and I think this will be a great place for me to share my life experiences and my love for travel.

I hope you will join me on this new journey and maybe offer me some encouragement and tips along the way (I'm VERY new at this!).  So here goes nothing....I'm now blogging!
